The first step in finishing or remodeling your space is to give me a call, or send me an e-mail.
I will personally contact you to arrange an appointment and in-home consultation.
Our First Appointment
This appointment will take place in your home. During this visit, I will walk through your kitchen, bathroom, or lower level with you. I want to hear your ideas, and will offer some suggestions and some of my ideas to you as well. We will also discuss the details of your project, a general timeline, and answer your questions. It is best if you provide some magazine or other pictures (called tear sheets) of projects and spaces you have seen that peak your interest. This will help me in the design process. One person’s colonial theme may be another’s shaker. We will also discuss your likes and dislikes of the existing space. Remember, a custom remodel doesn’t mean expensive, it means the space will be designed to best fit your needs and lifestyle.
Measurement Visit
I will begin the design process by measuring every detail of your space. I input the measurements and the design ideas into drawings, layouts, and sketches, and start designing your space, kitchen or bath. This is the major step in any remodeling job.
Your Plan Review
This is the meeting where everything in the design process comes together. We will start out discussing the final design for your remodel. One of the most exciting parts of your plan review is the colors, textures, and finishing accessories. This part of the design process is invaluable because it gives us the opportunity to get a "feel" for your completed space, before I begin your remodeling process. Once we have agreed on the final design and details, I will be asking for your commitment to proceed with construction, and develop a timeline for your project.
Your Pre-Construction Meeting
Now we enter the build phase of your remodel project. The preconstruction meeting allows you, the homeowner, to review the details of the construction process. One of the benefits you will receive when working with White Knight Remodeling is frequent, daily communication with me throughout the entire process of building your new space. Once your project has begun, we will regularly review my work
- Consult on an on-going basis prior to each next step
- Review a calendar for next steps and deadlines
- Finishing your space will take an agreed upon time.
The Final Walkthrough
Once your remodel is completed, I like to have a “homeowner walkthrough,” which is like an orientation meeting. This final overview will be a tour of your new space, a test and demonstration of all your new features, and also to provide instruction for care and maintenance. I will also present owner’s manuals for all new operating systems, warranty cards, and answer any questions and to inspect every detail to ensure that I have met and exceeded your expectations. I know that you will be very happy with the end result.
