![]() How long has White Knight Remodeling been in business? Since 1997, we have been proudly serving both residential and commercial clients in and around the Baltimore region. And during these last 12 years, I have been fortunate enough to finish hundreds of spaces. How can I preview White Knight Remodeling's work? Since finishing our first project, we have built an impressive space gallery of photos, which can be accessed by clicking on the gallery link. See some amazing Before and After shots, side by side, to compare the new spaces we have created for some very happy homeowners! How does your design and remodeling process work? Be sure to visit the design process link for an explanation of how I turn your dreams and our designs into a remodel reality in your home. What is the first step? How do I get started?? Either fill out the in-home consultation form or give me a call and I’ll be happy to set up your initial appointment in your home, at your convenience. Is there any fee or charge for your consultation? Absolutely not! I am glad to meet with you for a no-obligation, free in-home consultation. How much does a typical space cost? What should my budget be? No two consumers are the same, and no two spaces are the same. But when it comes to kitchens and baths, research shows what most of them want—functionality, style and convenience. Each space is unique, and, as such, so is the typical homeowner investment. The first step is to gather your tear sheets, develop a wish list, jot down your ideas, take photos of other spaces you like, and then meet with me. Let me develop a design for your space, and give you an estimated price quote that is based on your information and input. Beware of companies that bid on square foot or linear foot pricing. There is no way to give accurate and fair pricing from measurements alone. How do your costs compare with other company’s prices? By maintaining a low overhead, no showroom, sales staff, or office workers, I am able to offer a better value to you. I will tell you now that I will not be the cheapest contractor to work on your house. Be wary of the lowest bidder, for they will need to make up for lost profit with lower grades of material, shortcuts in craftsmanship, and the “surprises” they discover once into the project, which end up costing you in the long run. My original bid is your final contracted price, and you may budget more accurately. Even if I encounter additional costs during your contacted project, you will not be surprised with an additional invoice. If, however, during your project, we decide to change direction on materials, fixtures, size or scope of work, we will also agree on a modified price before the new work begins. There is no amount of planning and pre-start meetings to prepare you for actually seeing your remodel evolve and come together. Frequent meetings during the project allows for greater flexibility for change, so there are no final surprises. Will I get a return on investment when I sell my house? Studies show that the three area -- kitchens, bathrooms, and, more recently, finished basements -- will offer the greatest possibilities for a significant return on investment. Not only will you get most, if not all, of your money back at time of selling, but you also get the joy of using your newly renovated space in the meantime. In most cases, you increase the value of your home. Why should I invest money in finishing my basement? In the majority of cases, your lower level is one-third to half of the total square footage of your house. The remodel makes it a space that your family and friends can enjoy! The expense of adding new square footage in any addition is significant. Since this space is already in your house, the investment to finish it is greatly reduced. There may already be some mechanical rough-ins that can be used, reducing costs as well. Since this space is mostly below ground, it is also insulated from the severe weather outside, making it a more moderate temperature year round. It just makes good sense to make this level a more usable space for your friends and family. |
